There are no qualifications required for this role, however the Sport, Fitness and Recreation training package has a unit of competency Select and catch bait from the Certificate II in Outdoor Recreation. 

A bait collector must apply for a license or permit in the State that they operate in and follow strict biosecurity laws for the collection, transport and use of bait outside of the areas that it is collected.
