A marine engineer works with diesel engines, steam plants and gas turbines to ensure the internal systems of a ship or vessel such as propulsion, electrical, refrigeration and steering are operational.

MAR50120- Diploma Marine Engineering, MAR60120 Advanced Diploma Marine Engineering, Bachelor of Applied Science (Marine Engineering)

Minimum of 4 years of study and work experience. A degree or diploma in marine engineering or a related field is typically required. Certification as a Marine Engineer Class 1 or equivalent is necessary for senior positions.

Marine Safety, engineering science, maintenance of propulsion, electrical, refrigeration and steering systems of ships and vessels.

Physically fit, mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, able to work under pressure
