What’s involved

A Seafood Technologist is a food research and development specialist that can analyse the physical, chemical, and biological properties of seafood to identify improvement for areas such as food safety and quality, seafood nutritional values, seafood packaging and shelf-life, and new seafood product development and testing.

A seafood technologist works out in the field and in a laboratory completing tasks such as:

Bachelor of Food Science

A degree or higher qualification in Food Science is required. Experience in food research and development is important.
