Certificate II in Maritime Operations (Marine Engine Driver Grade 3 Near Coastal)
This certificate lets you act as chief engineer or second engineer on certain vessels. This certificate will allow you to work:
- as chief engineer on a vessel with an inboard engine with propulsion power up to 500 kilowatts within the exclusive economic zone (EEZ)
- as chief engineer on a vessel with an outboard engine of unlimited propulsion power within the EEZ
- as second engineer on a vessel with an inboard engine with propulsion power up to 750 kilowatts within the EEZ
- as an assistant under the general supervision of the chief engineer within the EEZ
- in the engine room of a vessel with an inboard engine with propulsion power up to 3000 kilowatts within the EEZ

Fish Monger
A fish monger works in wholesale buying and selling raw fish and seafood products to retailers or in retail, selling raw fish and seafood products to the public via seafood shops, supermarkets, or fish markets. Fish mongers are skilled at selecting the best seafood, preparing it for market and advising customers on how to prepare or cook the fish or seafood product.
Certificate III in Marine Mechanical Technology (Trade)
This apprenticeship will give you the skills and knowledge required to repair marine engines for ships and vessels.
Diploma of Human Resource Management
This qualification will give you the skills and knowledge required to work in human resources management for a company or business.
Certificate III in Mobile Crane Operations
This qualification will give you the skills and knowledge required to safely operate a mobile crane to load and unload cargo.
Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety
This qualification will give you the skills and knowledge to oversee Workplace Health and Safety requirements for an industry or business.
Certificate III in Supply Chain Operations
This qualification will give you the skills and knowledge required to work with chilled or frozen seafood products in a warehouse environment.
Certificate IV in Seafood Post Harvest Operations
This qualification will give you the skills and knowledge required to monitor food safety and supervise a seafood processing team, and the skills and knowledge required to evaluate, prepare and display seafood for wholesale or retail supply.
Master of Fisheries Policy
A postgraduate program for professionals working in fisheries and environmental policy, management, or enforcement roles. It provides a strong foundation in legal, policy scientific and economic frameworks for sustainable fisheries governance. Delivered online over one year full-time or part-time equivalent, the program includes core subjects such as ocean law, international fisheries law and a capstone project, with electives in areas like fish trade, surveillance and development.
Bachelor of Business
This qualification will give you the theory, practice and knowledge required to work with international export markets to sell Australian seafood products.
