This certificate lets you act as chief engineer or second engineer on certain vessels. This certificate will allow you to work:

• as chief engineer on a vessel with an inboard engine with propulsion power up to 500 kilowatts within the exclusive economic zone (EEZ)
• as chief engineer on a vessel with an outboard engine of unlimited propulsion power within the EEZ
• as second engineer on a vessel with an inboard engine with propulsion power up to 750 kilowatts within the EEZ
• as an assistant under the general supervision of the chief engineer within the EEZ
• in the engine room of a vessel with an inboard engine with propulsion power up to 3000 kilowatts within the EEZ

A postgraduate program for professionals working in fisheries and environmental policy, management, or enforcement roles. It provides a strong foundation in legal, policy scientific and economic frameworks for sustainable fisheries governance. Delivered online over one year full-time or part-time equivalent, the program includes core subjects such as ocean law, international fisheries law and a capstone project, with electives in areas like fish trade, surveillance and development.
