Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA)
As Australia’s national regulatory body, AMSA promotes the safety and protection of our marine environment and combat ship-sourced pollution. AMSA provides the infrastructure for safety of navigation in Australian waters, and maintain a national search and rescue service for the maritime and aviation sectors.
Please note: AMSA is not a training provider - recommend and approved courses are delivered by registered training organisations (RTOs).
Seafood Industry Australia (SIA)
Seafood Industry Australia (SIA) is the national peak-body representing the Australian seafood industry with members from the wild catch, aquaculture and post-harvest sectors of the Australian seafood industry.

Aquaculture and Agriculture Tech Skills Hub
The Aquaculture and Agriculture Tech Skills Hub is jointly funded by the Australian Government under the Regional Recovery Partnerships, Greater Whitsunday Alliance (GW3) and Regional Development Australia, and is being delivered in partnership with the Queensland Government, TAFE Queensland and CQUniversity.
Working with industry experts, community organisations and government since early 2022, the Hub aims to establish and support new ways of attracting, skilling, upskilling, retaining and growing local workforce through new and updated skills and workforce programs.
These include free, online and self paced short courses (micro-credentials), providing a flexible and accessible way to study and gain recognised learning outcomes.
Whilst developed in Queensland to provide valuable information on new and emerging areas, these can be accessed across Australia.
Oceanwatch Australia
OceanWatch Australia Ltd is a national not-for-profit environmental company that works to advance sustainability in the Australian seafood industry. OceanWatch's key activities involve:
- enhancing fish habitats and improving water quality in estuaries and coastal environments
- working with industry and local communities to minimise environmental impacts
- introducing industry and communities to sustainable technologies and behaviours
Yalga-binbi Institute
Yalga-binbi aims to provide skills and knowledge primarily for Indigenous people both in the Central Queensland and Wide Bay regions and, throughout Queensland where required.
