What’s involved

An ROV (remotely operated underwater vehicle) supervisor oversees the whole ROV operation and team to ensure that the dive tasks are planned and completed safely and successfully. The ROV supervisor will provide guidance, on the job training and instruction to the ROV pilots as required, to ensure all team members are trained and competent.

How do they spend their day?

An ROV Supervisor manages a team and works with them on a vessel, platform, or onshore and completes tasks such as:

  • Planning and scheduling the dive tasks

SFI40119 Certificate IV in Aquaculture has the unit of competency (SFIAQU415) Operate ROV’s.

ROV operation, aquaculture or marine environment experience is required.
