An aeration technician that works in aquaculture is responsible for maintaining aeration pumping systems for optimum water quality in ponds and tanks. An aeration system pumps air into the water to increase oxygen levels and sustain a healthy environment for farmed aquatic species.

A refrigeration mechanic working in ensures that refrigeration and reverse cycle equipment for water temperature, coolers, chillers, freezers and the general working environment is working effectively. Temperature is important for maintaining optimum growing conditions of aquatic species and for food safety in a processing and cold storage environment.

A data analyst interprets and uses specific information that is collected to identify and report on trends and insights or to identify and solve problems. In aquaculture this could include all types of data sets such as feed data, fish health, water quality, biosecurity, people and capability, logistics or sales and marketing data.

A veterinarian that specialises in aquatic animal health or marine animal health identifies and diagnoses the health and condition of fish and other aquatic animals, and provides the treatment, care and advice required for the condition.

A naval architect designs all types of passenger or cargo boats, ships, vessels, or floating structures that meet strict Australian Maritime standards for construction, stability, performance, and safety. They create plans and provide specifications for ship builders to follow including the selection of vessel materials, generators, engines, and gearboxes suited to the vessels size, weight, and speed.

Remotely operated vehicles (ROV's) are operated by specialists on a surface ship, much in the same way aerial drones are operated on land. They are used to inspect underwater structures, monitor the marine environment, maintain and repair damaged equipment at depth, assess stock health and to conduct environmental impact studies amongst a multitude of other tasks that in the past would have been the role of divers to undertake. 

An ROV (remotely operated underwater vehicle) supervisor oversees the whole ROV operation and team to ensure that the dive tasks are planned and completed safely and successfully. The ROV supervisor will provide guidance, on the job training and instruction to the ROV pilots as required, to ensure all team members are trained and competent.

A feeder working in aquaculture is the person that is responsible for overseeing the feed requirements, nutrition and feeding routines of aquatic animals. Depending on the industry sector, feeding may be done manually or by operating feeding equipment and cameras remotely.

Aquaculture technicians (sometimes advertised as farmhands) assist on farm with the growing of marine or freshwater animals, they monitor water quality and assist with the breeding, farming and feeding of fish, prawns, crustaceans, oysters and other aquatic animals.
